The Business Development team is a dynamic group of high performing, competitive individuals that work diligently to achieve sales targets and properly develop and maintain relationships with PRA's sponsors and clients.  The team is looking for someone to join them who has experience selling Phase 2-4 in the CRO space and has experience working territory in the Northeast.  


  • Responsible for achieving an annual sales target and other goals associated with growing business for PRA
  • Differentiate PRA from other CROs and qualify opportunities 
  • Creates and implements annual sales plan to achieve specific territory or strategic account targets for PRA 
  • Generates meetings and RFPs within their territory to produce new business authorizations through phone calls, email and other forms of communication 
  • Prepares PRA Teams for bid defense meetings with clients via multiple prep calls and meetings
  • Responsible for tracking all client interactions in for reporting 
  • Responsible for updating opportunities in on a weekly basis
  • May be required to attend calls to update Senior Management on an opportunity
  • Works with operations management to ensure clear understanding of the client’s needs and concerns
  • Required to complete training according to PRA’s SOPs
  • Represent PRA at industry meetings and conferences 
  • Identify opportunities to cross sell other PRA services 
  • Support budget and contract negotiations
  • Facilitate challenging client discussions 
  • Participate in client governance meetings 
  • Mentors new directors of business development and provides support
  • Lead strategic opportunities within PRA


  • 10+ years of sales experience or track record of closing $50M or more in consecutive years 
  • Greater than 5 years consultative selling experience within the CRO Industry
  • Strategic Partnership management 
  • Strong negotiations skills
  • Issue management 
  • Interactions with senior management
  • Experience closing multi-year and multi-million dollar deals
  • Territory management
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • Strong facilitation skills
  • Experience managing in a team-selling environment including developing accounts into “strategic” status and closing large international programs
  • Recent track record of sales success 
  • Read, write and speak English; fluent in host country language required.
  • Undergraduate degree in business or health sciences from an accredited institution, or their international equivalents
  • Experience in the Life Science industry
  • Advanced degree (M.S., M.B.A.)
  • Targeted coursework in business (management, marketing, accounting), budgets, personnel management, negotiation skills, etc.
