    Responsibilities

    What will you be doing?

    Working in a team environment to build and optimize complex, custom software applications.  We’re taking a fresh approach at ways that technology and analytics can empower those working in the clinical lifecycle and shape the future of clinical development.  Work individually and independently within teams to test software functionality that supports the information technology of business and operational users at PRA.  Partner with the project and development team to plan, test, build, implement, and maintain functional automated test suites to ensure that the functionality and end-to-end solution conform to the desired quality standard.   Build unified test automation infrastructure and tooling to ensure efficient end-to-end test coverage using various technologies, primarily Linux, Java and SQL.  Utilize the Agile development life cycle methodology and SOPs to deliver high-quality technology solutions. 

     

    • Create test plans and identify automation opportunities.
    • Validate applications and data to ensure that quality solutions are delivered to the end user to meet set business requirements as well as conform to PRA’s information technology principles, architecture, and strategies
    • Use your knowledge of testing and testability to influence better software design, promote proper engineering practice, bug prevention strategies, testability, accessibility, privacy and other advanced quality concepts across products.
    • Lead/collaborate on improving developer and engineering team’s test coverage, release velocity and production health.
    • Hands-on ability to automated repeated tasks and build test coverage through existing or new infrastructure.
    • Research and document problems using a variety of analytical and technical skills, techniques, and resources
    • Debug problems with information systems and development team using a variety of analytical skills, techniques, and resources.
    • Follow directives and standards on quality assurance testing and documentation
    • Constantly evaluate the test automation strategy and approach to identify areas of improvement.
    • Routinely communicate status (tasks, test coverage, problems encountered and time remaining to complete) to the team and stakeholders
    • Serve as a technical lead for different testing strategies, providing guidance on technical testing strategies and mentor junior team members
    • Develop, execute and interpret load, stress and other automated performance tests.

    Qualifications

    What do you need to have?

    • 2+ years of Software Testing or Development experience.
    • Experience with Git/Gitlab.
    • Read, write and speak English; fluent in host country language required.
    • BS in computer science or equivalent preferred.

    Preferred:

    • OOP experience with Java or Perl.
    • Extensive experience building automated test cases.
    • Familiarity with incorporating work with CI tools such as Jenkins/Hudson/Bamboo.
    • Knowledge of with web services and APIs testing including calling SOAP and REST end points using JSON and XML.
    • Strong coding experience.
    • Comfortable diving into new technical UNIX environments.
    • Experience of testing a full product stack—backend, service layers and UI.
    • Proven track record of designing and implementing performance and scalability test suites for complex backend systems.
    • Strong experience in Web and Mobile automation using Selenium and/or Appium tools.
    • Good knowledge of reading and writing SQL queries.
    • Knowledge of Maven, TestNG, Junit.
    • Software Testing Experience for CRO, Clinical, Accounting, Data Warehouse or Project Management Applications.
    • Strong communication skills and organizational skills.  Comfortable when working with dispersed teams.
    • Familiarity of JIRA and integrating via APIs desirable.
    • Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle methodologies (e.g. Waterfall, Iterative, Agile).
