  • Overview

    New drugs are tested in clinical trials using volunteers. These can be both healthy subjects as well as patients. Volunteers stay in the clinic for ranging from a few days days up to approximately 4 weeks. During their stay the Hostess takes care / coordinates the meals and recreational activities.

    Responsibilities

    Responsible for supplying food to volunteers or patients according to the country specific, GxP and study guidelines and SOPs and Work Instructions. Amongst which are:

    • Providing different meals for the various studies running simultaneously in the clinic, based on the actual planning and guidelines and work instructions. 
    • Ensure meals are consumed, as specified.
    • Ensure all cleaning and hygiene rules are followed both in the kitchen as well as the dining rooms.

    Responsible for the coordination of recreation activities for the volunteers.

    • Ensuring sufficient resources are available as well as taking care of reading materials (like books), leisure activites and tours for the volunteers.

    In case of medical emergency provide basic life support

    • Follow (mandatory) training sessions (including AED / BLS, HACCP).

    Other

    • Ensure that volunteers adhere to the general house rules as well to the study protocol,
    • Talk to volunteers that do not follow rules and inform the Clinical Team Managers.

    Qualifications

    • 0-2 years
    • Read, write and speak fluent English; fluent in host country language required.



    • Lower vocational education (LBO). Preferably lower nursing/facility education.



    • Preferably with experience in facility management, hosting and/or dietetics.
